Flia Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Flia is an app for organizing family life — tasks, events, and reminders you describe by voice or text. This policy explains what data we collect, what we use it for, and the choices you have.
It covers the Flia app and the fliaapp.com website.
Data controller: Darya Astapava, independent service provider (Monotributista), Argentina. Contact: dasha.astapova@gmail.com.
1. Data we collect
Account data. When you sign up we store your email. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email (Apple may give you a private relay email if you choose to hide yours); with Google we may also receive your profile photo. If you use a password, it's handled by Firebase Authentication (Google) — we never see it in plain text.
Family and task data. Your family's name; the names and roles (parent, child, other) of the members you add — including children who don't have their own account, added by you as their parent/guardian; and every task or event you create: title, category (e.g. health, school, shopping), notes, date and time, recurrence, who it's assigned to, and the text as you typed or said it. If you speak, transcription happens on your own device — only the resulting text reaches us, never the audio.
Attached photos. If you attach a photo to a task so our AI can interpret it, it's sent once to our AI service and is not stored on our servers afterward.
Invite codes. Temporary 6-digit codes used to add someone to your family. They're deleted automatically after 72 hours.
Subscription data. If you subscribe, Apple shares transaction information with us (plan, dates) to verify your active subscription. Your card details never reach us — Apple handles them.
Usage and diagnostics. We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google) to understand which features are used and to catch errors. These events are tied to an internal identifier, not your name.
Notifications. Reminders are local notifications on your device. Additionally, when another family member assigns or updates a task, we notify you with a push notification (using Firebase Cloud Messaging), for which we store a notification token from your device linked to your profile.
2. What we use your data for
- Storing and syncing your family's tasks and events across devices and members.
- Interpreting what you type or say and turning it into a structured task or event, using Google's Gemini model via Google Cloud (Vertex AI). Under Vertex AI's terms, that content isn't used to train Google's models.
- Generating an optional daily summary, if you ask for one.
- Sending you local reminders and push notifications when another family member assigns or updates a task.
- Verifying your active subscription.
- Finding bugs and improving the app.
- Replying if you contact us.
3. Who we share data with
We don't sell your data. We share it only with the providers that make the app possible:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database (Firestore), server functions, Analytics, Crashlytics, and Cloud Messaging (push notifications).
- Google Cloud Vertex AI — interprets the text and, if provided, the photo you send.
- Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In — if you choose those sign-in methods.
- Apple App Store — to verify subscriptions.
- Google Analytics — only on the fliaapp.com website, and only if you accept analytics cookies (see section 7).
These providers may process data in countries other than your own.
4. Children's data
Flia is meant to be used by adults (parents or guardians) organizing family life. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data directly from them. If you add a child as a family member, you — the parent/guardian — are the one entering and responsible for that information, as part of the family-organization feature.
5. How long we keep your data
Completed tasks and events are automatically deleted according to their category — for example, shopping/home tasks after 14 days, health items after up to 2 years. Invite codes are deleted after 72 hours. The rest of your data is kept while your account is active.
6. Your choices
You can view and edit your family's data directly in the app. You can delete your account anytime from Settings: if you created the family, the whole family is deleted; if you joined someone else's family, your account is deleted but your name may still appear as a member until whoever manages the family removes it. For any other request about your data (access, correction, portability, deletion), write to dasha.astapova@gmail.com.
7. The fliaapp.com website
Website analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read and where visitors come from. It only turns on if you accept it in the cookie notice: until then Google Analytics isn't loaded and no analytics cookies are stored (we use Google Consent Mode with everything denied by default).
What is collected. The pages you visit, the page you came from, your device and browser type, language, and an approximate location (country or city) derived from your IP address. Google Analytics doesn't store the IP address itself. The data is tied to a random identifier kept in the _ga and _ga_* cookies, which last up to 2 years. We don't use this data for advertising or link it to your app account.
How long. Google Analytics keeps detailed visit data for 2 months; after that only aggregated statistics remain.
How to withdraw consent. At any time, through the "Cookies" link at the bottom of every page and the "No thanks" option. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
Android waitlist. If you leave your email at fliaapp.com/android, we store the email, the page language and, if you answer it, the question about your family's devices. We use it only to tell you when the Android version is out. You can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to dasha.astapova@gmail.com.
8. Security
We rely on Google Cloud/Firebase infrastructure, which encrypts data in transit and at rest. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we'll update the date on this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
